Topic Summary: As IT security is becoming a significant priority for organizations, Microsoft has made some major security enhancements to Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7. These include additional settings such as Group Policy Preferences, Starter Group Policy Objects and Administrative Templates to name a few. Another major enhancement to Server 2008 is Fine Grained Password Policies allowing organizations to set password policies to its users based on the group membership, as per their security requirements. Authentication and access to sensitive information is a hot topic and related to most regulations such as PIPEDA, SOX, HIPAA, PCI, NERC etc. Shay will give an overview of the main security enhancements to Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 with a focus on strong password authentication, auditing and Group Policies.

Speaker Bio: Shay is a 15 year veteran of large scale enterprise IT environments with a focus on Systems Management, Security and Desktop Automation Technologies. As a former Senior Infrastructure Architect with Intel Corporation, Shay has a strong background in planning and directing integration solutions in support of client specific business objectives utilizing the full project life cycle. Intuitive project leader with expertise in evaluating client needs and offering strategic solutions to align IT infrastructure to enhance client ROI more quickly and cost-effectively in changing market conditions. Shay is currently employed by Specops Software as a Technical Evangelist leading current and future development of enhanced Windows Password Management and Windows Desktop Automation solutions. Shay has led design and implementations of infrastructure solutions on a global scale and is a frequent speaker at various seminars and conferences.
